Nathan Harrison is a Producer, Director and Cameraman, with experience filming all over the world, working on a broad range of award winning observational documentary, specialist factual, factual entertainment and current affairs programming for BBC1,2 & 4, ITV 1, Channel 4, Channel 5, BBC World, PBS and National Geographic, including ‘Rituals’ for the BBC Natural History Unit, ‘Hunters of the South Seas’ (BBC 2), ‘Welcome to India’ (BBC 2), ‘Hugh’s Fish Fight’ (C4), ‘World’s Greatest Food Markets (BBC2) and ‘The Great Comic Relief Bake-Off’ (BBC1).  With an academic background in biological and social sciences, Nathan is drawn to thought provoking factual and documentary, the environment and the natural world.

Nathan has filmed in over 30 countries on five continents, and is used to working in challenging environments including the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, the heat of the Sahel desert in Niger, the Arctic in Alaska, jungles in Madagascar and has spent weeks at sea, filming on Greenpeace’s boat, the Arctic Sunrise, off the coast of Mauritania, and pelagic fishing vessels off the Faroe Islands.

Nathan is experienced working with a broad range of equipment including traditional Eng cameras like the Sony PDW-800, PMW-500 and Panasonic Varicam, as well as large sensor cameras like the Canon C300 & 5d and Sony F3 & F55, as well as compact cameras such as the Canon XF305 and Sony PMW-200 & EX3.

Nathan also has experience producing and assisting on jib shoots, driving dollies, working with minicams, car rigs and sliders, and is use working solo or as part of large muti-camera shoots.

Nathan has done a significant amount of handheld aerial filming hanging out of helicopters in Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia and at sea, and has recently started to learn remote camera and remote helicopter operation.

Nathan owns a full Panasonic Varicam LT Shooting kit, capable of producing stunning low light and offspeed results, along with a several canon zooms and primes. He also has a set of lights, an  OConnor 1030 HD tripod, a Canon 5D Mk II and 1D Mk IV, and a GoPro Hero 3 Black edition – all available to hire to productions at competitive rates.
